Today, Skyhawk Studio launches Frequency 432 kHz: The Backstory with Rock’s Royalty — a premium multi-camera video podcast where musicologist and host Jon Kanis sits down with the artists, makers, and minds behind the music for real, funny, deeply informed conversations about the careers and stories that have never been told on camera. Until now.
432 Hz is known as the feel-good frequency — the natural tuning that resonates at the same rate as the human body. That’s exactly what this show is built around: conversations that feel good, go deep, and leave you with more than you came with. Laugh, listen, and learn.
Season 1 opens right here in San Diego, with three episodes featuring artists who have spent decades shaping this city’s music scene — and whose stories have never been told at this level.
“Tuned to the stories that matter. Real conversations with the artists, makers, and minds behind the music.”
The Host
Jon Kanis is a Grammy-nominated producer, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame consultant, director of the Soulsville U.S.A. film series permanently exhibited at the Stax Museum of American Soul in Memphis, and author of Encyclopedia Walking: Pop Culture & the Alchemy of Rock ‘n’ Roll. He is a former road manager for Peter Case and a performing multi-instrumentalist who has collaborated with Mike Keneally — Frank Zappa’s touring guitarist — and the Wondermints, who went on to become Brian Wilson’s Smile touring band.
Jon speaks with every guest as a peer. That trust unlocks conversations no fan-host can reach.
